World Renound Museum of Oceanography

And of course, it's in Monaco! Which is not surprising at all because many elegant and wonderful things are located in Monaco.  Unfortunately we only had about an hour and a half to visit this museum when it should take about 4! We zipped right through it, though. I can take forever in a museum just wandering the halls and reading everything. But even though we hardly had any time, I was satisfied!

The front entrance, and building that the museum is in.
(Sorry for the angle, had to stand in the middle of the road to get the whole building, and cars were coming!)

A huge room with all sorts of skeletons of marine life.
Some even preserved carcasses. (There was a lobster that was a meter long!)

A stuffed hammer head shark, for my daddio!

Full walls of windows into beautiful aquariums!
Some fish are just so gorgeous.

Sharks gliding along the bottom of their "ocean".

Beautiful little orange starfish. Though they don't move very fast, they are fun to watch!
Believe it or not, the lump behind the starfish in the middle, is another fish. And he doesn't mind the starfish chilling on him.

Big green creepy guys with glowing eyes.
Kinda cool.

Sea horses! I'm not sure if you can see, them.
One is swimming along in the foreground.
(And some little guys hooked on the rock behind the main horsey.)

Thousands of Nemos!

The top floor of the museum what a roof top panoramic view of all of Monaco.
This is a drawn map of the view from above.
(It was also my first try with my panoramic setting on my (fairly) new camera!)

until next time!

  2. I like the starfish chillin' on the lumpfish. He looks really comfey. You are one lucky girl to be able to see and experience all these wonderful things. Enjoy it to the fullest.
(I just noticed Lady Grey's post at 6:42am our time. Wow, that's early!)
