Innsbruck: The Swarovski Museum

During my Pastry course, I get a one week vacation, a spring break! So I left February 18, right after classes to catch my train to Innsbruck! I went to Innsbruck to visit my cousins that live there. I stayed with my cousins Karl, Lisa and Katharina. Last time I went to Innsbruck, I was 12 years old, but it was only for a couple days, so it was a very nice refreshment.
So to get to Innsbruck from my little Cap d'Agde was quite the adventure. And to make it even more of an adventure, I wanted to bring the Chocolate Grapefruit Mousse cake. I asked Chef what was the best way to go about this, and he had absolutely no faith in my attempt to transport the cake for that long a trip. I left my apartment at 6:45 and only got to Innsbruck the next day at 2 pm.
Here was my itinerary for the way there:
Agde to Montpellier     7:24pm to 7:58pm    Friday the 18th of February
Montpellier to Zurich  10:50pm to 9:26am    Friday the 18th of February
Zurich to Innsbruck    10:40am to 2:06pm    Saturday the 19th of February

Though my trains were late making me miss a bunch of my connections, I made it there in one piece. :) So for the rest of the Saturday we just hung out and ate,and enjoyed my cake that made it there still beautiful and edible!
Sunday morning, I was taken to the Swarovski museum. Something I greatly enjoy! (What girl wouldn't!? It's all beautiful and shiny things!) This is where all the Swarovski pieces are made and come from.  The museums gift shop is also the world's largest Swarovski store. (Another dream come true!)

Whole walls of tiny crystals.

The Empire State Building, Taj Mahal, a pyramid and Sphinx, all made out of crystal.

A giant ring, out of crystal.

A giant octopus, out of crystal.

The most expensive item in the shop (that i found!) a 20,000 euro dragon sculpture, and it was only about a foot high!

If you could spare 1300 euros, for these shoes I'd greatly appreciate it.

A glimpse of the store.

An artistic dress, out of crystal, of course.

Me in front of the Swarovski monster.
(Under him is where the museum is, it's underground!)

And, of course I left the boutique with having bought a couple of cute things.:)
